A 22-year-old Newspaper Vendor, Monday Francis, was on Thursday clubbed to death in Calabar at a drinking joint near his house.
Reports say he had gone to the local drinking parlour to take some
shots of local gin (Ogogoro) but later had a disagreement with one of
his neighbours whose name was given as Eno who allegedly hit him several
times on the head and neck with a shovel.
According to one of their neighbours Godwin, Eno had told his younger
brother, Innocent to leave the scene before clubbing the vendor to
death. The deceased Godwin said poured part of his drinks on Eno before
the assailant hit him with the shovel. The matter was reported at the
Federal Housing Police Station.
He said after his brother ran away from the drinking joint, Eno
pursued him with a stick and hit him several

The Katsina State Government has announced 100 per cent
salary increase for chief executives of government’s agencies and
boards.
Alhaji Lawal Jari, the state Commissioner for
Finance, made this known during a news conference in Katsina on Friday.
Jari said the State Government also approved 35 per cent of the chief
executives’ annual salaries as their furniture allowance.
He
noted that the increment took effect from January 2012, adding that the
furniture allowance will be reviewed every four years.

volatile town of Mubi, Adamawa State by the Joint Military Operation

Saudi doctors checking a one-month-old girl were shocked to

A building located in Low Cost Housing Estate, otherwise called
