Panicking PDP Chairman, Bamanga Tukur, ‘Recalls’ Governor Wammako To PDP

Less than one week after Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State dismissed as a political prostitute the Peoples Democratic Party chairman (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, the chairman today ‘recalled’ the suspended governor. Wamakko was suspended on June 5.  In a communique at the end of a meeting on that day, the National Working Committee (NWC) said Governor Wamakko had ignored invitations and lawful directives of the NWC and demonstrated contempt for an organ of the party.
In a bizarre clarification the following day, party spokesman explained that Wamakko was disciplined because he had refused to take calls Tukur made to obtain the governor’s explanation of certain comments he had made.
It is unclear if Governor Wamakko was jumping for joy today upon hearing of his recall.  While dismissing
his suspension, he also expressed regret that the party is being led by people such as Tukur, and called on President Goodluck Jonathan to bring back Ahmadu Ali and Abubakar Kawu Baraje, to regain the reins of control as Chairman and Secretary.
Also today, Tukur, who was in the company of the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio, announced that the National Executive Committee of the party will meet in Abuja on Thursday.
It will be recalled that in addition to dismissing his so-called suspension from the PDP, Governor Wamakko also swore never to support Governor Akpabio as the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum.
