The Rivers State House Of Assembly Leader Turned Himself In At Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) At 5pm yesterday.

Chidi Lloyd, who turned himself in after about a week in hiding, is to spend the night at the Police headquarters, Abuja, Pointblanknews.com can authoritatively reveal.
Pointblanknews.com had earlier broken the story that the wanted law maker finally turned up at the police headquarters, Abuja, accompanied by his lawyer.
Family sources told Pointblanknews.com that the lawmaker finished writing a lengthy statement about an hour ago, and that his lawyer had moved to secure a bail for his client, but was denied.
According to the sources, police detectives investigation the fracas that erupted in the state Assembly
penultimate Tuesday, told Lloyd’s lawyer that his client’s presence was required to assist investigations.
Pointblanknews.com could not confirm if and when the lawmaker would be arraigned in court. However, a police source said Lloyd’s assault on a colleague, as caught on tape, was a criminal offence.
Meanwhile, a family source has disclosed how pressure was mounted on the embattled lawmaker to turn himself in after close to a week in hiding.
The source said they believed Lloyd holed himself up in Lagos and would intermittently make telephone calls to close family members and political associates, particularly his pro-Amaechi colleagues in the Assembly.
“He often would call with blocked numbers and we would tell him to stop being a fugitive from the law, and turn  himself in. After all, that he did not kill the Chinda guy. After much pressure, Chidi turned himself in,” the source relayed.
