Commuters Push 32-Ton Train To Free Trapped Woman in Japan

Commuters and railway staff teamed up to tip a 32-ton train and rescue a woman who got stuck between the platform and a carriage.

The woman was trapped while alighting the train at Japan Railway Minami Urawa Station in Saitama, near Tokyo, on Monday morning.

Help was requested over the station’s loudspeakers and around 40 people pushed the carriage, the suspension system of which allows it to lean to the side.
The woman in her mid-30s was rescued without serious injury and the train went on its way after a delay of only eight minutes.
