Evangelist Silver Wealth Iyamu, the General Overseer of the World
Liberation Ministry, found himself in a controversy September 11, 2012
when a woman was said to have been barren for over fifteen years after
marriage allegedly delivered a creature that looked like a horse in his
church located in the heart of Benin City.
The incident attracted attention both from Nigeria and abroad and it
was reported by Sunday Vanguard. It would be recalled that while a
consultant gynecologist, Dr. Jerry Uwaifo, said it was not medically
possible for a woman to deliver an animal, the church members insisted
that it was a miracle.
However, Sunday Vanguard met Wealth,on Wednesday, after a crusade at
the Benin Cultural Center, where several people also reportedly received
miracles of different types, to inquire about the incident of September
last year and he disclosed that the woman in question, who disappeared
shortly after the delivery at the church, resurfaced weeks later to see
him in his office.
He goes after anything in skirt, be it old enough to be his mother or
she is of our child’s age. “I have become a laughing stock, even in the
church. I made all efforts for him to stop this disgraceful act but he
won’t listen.
“He collects money from me and uses the money to chase other men’s
wives. I am tired. I don’t want the marriage anymore”. These were the
lamentations of Mrs Comfort Oladepo. She spoke in her evidence-in-chief
before an Orile Agege Grade ‘B’ Customary Court which she prayed to end
her twenty five-year-old marriage to her husband, Kayode, who he accused
of adultery, lack of care and drinking habit.
The 44-year-old nurse, who lives at 9, Shodipo Street, Papa Ashafa,
Orile Agege, stunned the court when she said her husband not only
refused to work for 20-years, but he also used her money to chase other
men’s wives.
“My husband refused to work for 20 years; so I was the one feeding,
paying house rent and clothing the family including my husband”, Comfort
stated.

Moussa Sissoko scored twice as Newcastle overcame Chelsea 3-2 in a thriller at St James' Park on Saturday afternoon.
Jonas
Gutierrez flicked a header home to give the Magpies the lead, but Frank
Lampard and Juan Mata turned the game on its head after the break
before Sissoko struck twice to win a massive three points for the
Magpies.
The hosts were unchanged from their 2-1 midweek win over
Aston Villa, while Rafa Benitez elected to play Demba Ba from the start
on his return to St James' Park and gave John Terry a first Premier
League start for nearly three months after a knee injury.
Ba was
booed and jeered whenever the ball went near him in a quiet start that
saw Petr Cech make simple saves from Yoan Gouffran and Davide Santon.
The
visitors worked their way into the match patiently and should have
taken the lead on 15 minutes. Mata's excellent chipped pass found Ashley

A mother-of-two has lost one of her eyes after her eye was eaten away by a fungus she believes was caused by her contact lens.
Jacqui Stone, 42, from Braintree in Essex, had to endure 22 operations
and more than 17 weeks in hospital after wearing a popular brand of
disposal contact lens for just one day.
Jacqui tells her story:
‘I’ve worn contact lenses on and off for 20 years and have never had a problem.
‘I am one of those people who doesn’t take risks - I know I washed my hands when I put them in.
‘Everything seemed normal in the morning when I put them in. It wasn’t until I got home at 5pm that I thought “these feel awful” and had to take them out.
‘I threw them away as they were disposables and didn’t think anymore about it at the time.
‘But the next day I had very blurred vision out of my left eye.

Obinna Stephanie Onyinye, 31 has been declared wanted by the police for alleged involvement in the act of lesbian. It
was reported that Stephanie in 2012 was allegedly caught engaging in
the practice of lesbianism with another woman, and has since then been
reported at the Afonka Police Division.
She was reportedly caught with her fellow lesb*an at Shasha area of Lagos State.
Police

lesbian partner, Akin Dorcas, were caught red handed by Mr Akin who ran
to the police to file a report. Investigation also revealed that the two lesb*ans were always seen together before the revelation.
He cut a pathetic picture; helplessness was written all over him. It was
hard to imagine that someone who had gained national popularity on the
rested New Masquerade series and home videos could be cut down by illness, poverty and neglect.
That is the story of Mr. Romanus Uchenna Amuta aka Natty. It was a tough job getting him to speak,
as a stroke had left him with slurred speech and sluggish movements.
Sitting before the reporter was a shadow of the crafty and witty

“If government does not come to help me now, then I will die very soon,” were the few words he let out with great effort.
Interestingly, Natty is one of the few surviving cast of the once celebrated New Masquerade,.

Below is a story from someone who attended the commissioning of the lodge...
Miss

when Ms. Onuoha stood with the State Coordinator to cut the ribbon,

Confederation of African Football has

CAF Secretary-General, Hicham El Amrani, said the body would not bend

The Nations Cup matches are not on Nigerian

Amrani said,

Mourners nearly died of shock when a 101-year-old woman, who

Peng Xiuhua asked why so many people were in her house in Lianjiang, Guangdong province, China.
Peng, who lived alone, had taken a tumble and hurt herself so her two daughters, who are in their 70s, were looking after her.
However, 10 days later her daughters could not detect a heartbeat and her body had gone stiff so she was declared dead.
The
daughters gave her a bath, an undertaker dressed her and they were
about to put her in her coffin when she came back to life.
Peng said: “I am a lucky woman.

The Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad, popularly called Boko
Haram, has asked the federal and Borno State governments to compensate
its leadership, members and families of its dead members, as a major
condition to sustain the one-week-old ceasefire it announced last
Monday. Saturday Sun gathered exclusively that the sect’s demand for
monetary compensation, which will cost both the federal and Borno State
governments nothing less than N26 billion has already been accepted by
the Borno State government, which has been the worst hit by the
activities of the sect.
The amount, it was gathered, could be more or less depending on the
total number of the sect members that have been killed by the security
agencies. According to a highly placed source, “the money being
demanded by the sect leaders, they claim they will use it to compensate
themselves, their members for all their losses, especially their houses,
cars and businesses that have been destroyed by government.
They also said they need the money to take care of the families of
their members that had been killed by soldiers. So, the figure for now
can’t be less that N26 billion, but could be far more depending on the

A grieving husband was horrified when
he opened the casket at his dead wife's funeral and found a total
stranger inside, it was reported today.
Michael Galant
told of his shock after staff at a funeral home accidentally put a
different woman inside a coffin he was expecting to contain the body of
his wife Magdalene Galant, 58. The South African widower and his
daughter Leota had prepared themselves to take a final look at their
loved one during Mrs Galant's funeral this week in Cape Town.
Mr Galant said: "I opened my wife's casket and she didn't look right. I immediately knew something was wrong."
"My daughter came to me and said: "That's not mummy", and then I knew this was a big mistake."
It
was reported that the mix-up happened this week as Mr Galant prepared
for the funeral of his wife, who died on Saturday of a heart attack. The
couple's traumatised daughter said that the family questioned the
Sometime within the week, some shadowy
character by the name Abu Mohammed Ibn Abdulazees, who claims to hold a
prominent position within the ranks of the dreaded insurgents, Boko

officials of the government in Borno state and had come to the
conclusion that Muslims were also suffering under the sustained
atmosphere of terror the sect had visited on residents of the state.
Ever
since that purported ceasefire was announced my phone has been
subjected to numerous calls from individuals who said they wanted to ask
from me whether there was any credibility to this. At a stage, I feared
that my modest handset would crash as the volume of calls increased.
Then a myriad of emotions took over me. I was upset that people could
not read between the lines.
The same thing that got me angry and

article. For, believe it, among those who called me were highly placed

I heaved a sigh of relief when Nigeria
crossed into the quarter-finals with a head-on battle against Cote

the number one in Africa now.
I know many Nigerians
wished for something softer with their sights set on the trophy but I
can give a million reasons why it should be better to play these
Ivorians instead of Togo or any other country.
The first question
we should ask ourselves is whether this brand of Super Eagles has been
really tested. And the answer is definitely no. So why don’t we grab
this good opportunity to test Stephen Keshi and the team? If we keep
running from the likes of Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana and Cameroon, when are we
going to face the top African teams, beat them and regain our
confidence? Or have we forgotten that there was a time we were confident
enough to believe we could beat any team on the continent home and
away? Or did anybody believe the Eagles were going to lose against
England before the kick off at Wembley in 1994? That is the
Research shows one-year-olds can guess thoughts through empathy.
Infants
as young as 18 months old can guess what other people are thinking, a
new study claims. A study of children from rural China, Ecuador and Fiji
found that their ability to see the world from others' perspectives
emerges much earlier than previously thought. It was previously thought
that this ability to empathise only emerges in children between the ages
of four and seven, but children from different countries develop it at
different ages. Researchers say their findings could also shed light on
the social skills that differentiate humans from chimpanzees.
The
false-belief test was used - which is one of the few cognitive tasks
that youngsters can do that primates cannot. In the classic version of
the test, one person comes into a room and places an object like a pair
of scissors into a hiding place. A second researcher then enters and
puts the scissors in his pocket. When the
French police have arrested seven
people suspected of procuring Nigerian prostitutes who worked across
France, judicial sources said Friday.
The
five men, including the suspected ringleader, and two women raked in
some 90,000 euros ($120,000) a month from the illicit business, the

An investigation began in October 2011 established
that the ringleader’s companion, one of the two women arrested,
recruited the women in Nigeria. Among the five others arrested was the
sister of the suspected ringleader and her husband. The seven, who face
charges of human trafficking and "aggravated" procuring of prostitutes,
appeared before an investigating magistrate on Friday.

Peter Odemwingie has hit back at West Bromwich Albion after his
proposed move to Queens Park Rangers fell through on the final day of
the transfer window.
The striker accused the club of reneging on a
gentleman's agreement to let him sign for the west London club, saying
he believed West Brom's technical director, Dan Ashworth, had sanctioned
the move. He also claimed Albion had signed him from Lokomotiv Moscow
without permission.
It is understood that Odemwingie met with
Ashworth and Richard Garlick, Albion's legal director, at the club's
training ground this morning and has since been sent home and given a
few days off. He will not feature in this weekend's game against
Tottenham. Odemwingie turned up at Loftus Road on Thursday night expecting to
sign, but was barred from the stadium. He had submitted a transfer

Genevieve Nnaji's small part inthe big screen adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s
novel “Half of a Yellow Sun”has been cut out from the
finished film. It wasn't just Genevieve's scenes that were cut from the
movie, a few other characters from the book didn't appear in the movie.
Sources in the know say the producers may have cut Genevieve from the
movie because her character wasn't important to the story and was
dragging the storyline unnecessarily. Other characters didn't appear
because there was not much time to tell everyone's story. Genny may
appear in a scene or two but it will be very insignificant. Genevieve
played the role of Ms Adebayo, a professor who develops a

A 43-year-old pastor, Nehemiah Elijah,
who allegedly obtained N725,000 under pretence, was on Friday charged
before an Ikeja Magistrates' Court in Lagos.
Elijah, who
resides at No. 13 Edom St., Muwo, Ojo, Lagos, is facing a three-count
charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and fraud.
The
prosecutor, Insp. Okoi Edet, told the court that the accused had on May
5, 2011 at Ojo Area, Lagos, obtained the sum of N725,000 from one Mr
Cyprian Ezegbo.
Edet said Elijah received the money from Ezegbo, under the pretext of obtaining a Qatar Visa for his son.
The prosecutor said that the accused, with some others now at large, did not honour the agreement.
He said the offences contravened Sections 285, 312 and 409, of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State,
The popular claim by the police in
Nigeria that they are friends of the people has been confirmed by
commercial sex workers at a brothel around the Railway Police Station,

The brothel, it was learnt, has been in existence for several years
without any disturbance from its neighbouring Railway Police divisional

the other located two houses away from it.
Parading 19 ladies of
different sizes and shapes, some of the prostitutes confessed that the

A dog is set to be put to death in Tennessee today after his owner abandoned him because he thought he was gay. The
pitbull-type hound is currently languishing in an overcrowded animal
shelter in Jackson but is due to be put this afternoon down unless a new
owner can be found at the last minute.
According to the owner of
the shelter, the dog's master noticed him 'hunched over' another male
dog, which led him to assume he was gay.
While dogs are known to
occasionally display homosexual behaviour, animal experts say a male dog
mounting another male dog is not a sign of intimate orientation but
rather a sign of dominance.
The Joint Task Force, JTF, Operation Restore Order, in Borno

Tuesday, Oprah injured her back after lifting a flower arrangement sent by her close friend, Tyler Perry.
Sources say the OWN talk show queen spent her 59th birthday in bed

Wang Lichun,

Borno state governor Kashim Shettima
has turned down an award from an Europe based non-governmental
