As the confiscation hearing of assets of former Delta State Governor James Ibori entered its fifth day in London, yesterday, the former EFCC Chairman giving evidence of how Ibori offered him $15m bribe, said under oath that neither he nor the EFCC had an investigation file, notes of calls, meetings, briefings or records detailing the offer of the alleged bribe between him and James Ibori.
Cross- examined by Ibori’s lead counsel, Ivan Krolic, Ribadu said that the only notes he had on Ibori’s alleged offer of $15m bribe was his personal notes which he lost during the period he was being persecuted by the Federal Government when he was removed from office.
This was even as the EFCC yesterday told Justice Lateefa Okunnu of the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja that Prof Pat Utomi, the first defence witness in the trial of a former Managing Director of BankPHB, now Keystone Bank, Francis Atuche and two others, took loan facilities to the tune of N59million at different

Here's what TV show presenter Yvonne Vixen Ekwere said in a chat with Punch:
Most celebrities don’t like to be caught ‘re-rocking’ a dress…
Whenever I am on the Red Carpet and paparazzi take my pictures, I always
say ‘chei! So I will not wear this dress again?’ The pictures will be
plastered everywhere including the Internet and magazines. It spoils
show for me. It is not that we don’t like wearing a particular dress for
more than one event, but we’ll rather not do it.
So after spending so much money buying or making a dress,
you will not wear it again just because you wouldn’t want to be seen
repeating a dress?
But you will abuse me if I repeat a dress. People would write that we
repeated a dress. Because of that, I

killing at least 22 people in what
could possibly be a terrorist attack. An eyewitness claimed the gunmen
told Muslims to stand up and leave the mall and that only non-Muslims

at least 22 were dead and at least 50 people injured. One survivor said and that the attackers started from
the Westage mall ground floor and made their way to the top.
He said they had grenades and AK-47 rifles and he saw at least five of

Indications emerged last night that President Goodluck Jonathan is
uncomfortable with his dwindling political fortunes in the National
Assembly despite the control of the two chambers of the legislature by
his party.
A fat sum of money, which was meant to be disbursed to sympathetic
lawmakers was not distributed as was expected, thereby infuriating
President Jonathan's camp. Some lawmakers allegedly got just $25,000
(about N3.5m) instead of $100,000 (N15m) said to have been earmarked for
them to work for Jonathan.
A source said Jonathan was compelled to fire Joy Emordi, Special Adviser
on National Assembly Matters, due to her weakness and inability to
influence House of Reps members in his favour.
The wrong application of the money is said to have been partly

Many

Make it look bigger.
Cinch
up your waist. Emphasizing a small waist will make your hips look
bigger by proportion. Whether your tummy is tiny or not, try these tips
to trick the eye:
-
Wear a belt over your waist. Find a medium to large width belt, and tie
it around the tiniest part of your waist, over whatever shirt you are
wearing. (This looks best over button-down shirts, sweaters, or loose
blouses). For extra emphasis, try using a dark-colored belt over a light
shirt.
-
Try a girdle. If you have a little more girth than you’d like around
your middle, try a girdle. It should push the excess from your tummy
down around your hips and b*tt. Girdles can be found at most department

President Goodluck Jonathan will declare a state of emergency in Nasarawa State, if the recurring violent killings and clashes between the Ombatse militia group of Eggon and the Alago ethnic group continue. Nasarawa senators say this move would prevent a spill-over of the crisis to nearby Abuja Federal Capital Territory.
A ranking officer of the Nigerian Army told DailyPost on
Friday morning that the government was “seriously” weighing the option
of a state of emergency. However, the source said there is no
information when the emergency rule would be announced.
Earlier this week, the president directed the military to take over flash points across Nasarawa to curb the violence.

asked if the military would move once the crisis escalates, the source

Several

the other hand, when there are such distress calls, the Police cannot
run to the FRSC for immediate action, hence there is need for the Police

Pope
Francis waves to faithful as he arrives for his weekly general audience
in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013
In
his most recent interview, Pope Francis frankly expressed his views
upon abortion, gay rights and the Roman Catholic church being focused on
gay marriage.
The Pope says that, although the church is
entitled to have its own opinions, it cannot "interfere spiritually" in
the lives of homosexual individuals. This statement follows a similar
one he made earlier in July, 2013.
In his interview with Rev.
Antonio Spadaro, a fellow Jesuit and editor of La Civiltà Cattolica, the
Pope says there is no necessity to talk about these issues all the
time, but there is a need to focus on the the poor and other social
problems.
"The dogmatic and moral teachings of the church are not
all equivalent," he further adds. "The church's pastoral ministry cannot
be obsessed with the transmission of a disjointed multitude of

It has been revealed that this one simple tip would help every man with erectile problems.
Logging at least 3 hours of exercise a week will strengthen your erection, says new research.
Over
6 months, overweight men reduced their daily caloric intake by 400
calories while sticking to an exercise regimen. Half of the guys were
placed in a low-volume group (90 to 150 minutes of moderately intense
exercise per week) while the others spent anywhere from 200 to 300
minutes in the gym a week. In the end, both groups dropped weight and
saw spikes in erectile function and testosterone, but the serious
sweaters showed the biggest improvements.
If you’re
overweight, losing 3 to 6 percent of your total body weight through

However,
diplomatic efforts to speed up the process are moving slowly. A meeting
initially scheduled for Sunday at which the organization's 41-nation
executive council was to have discussed a U.S.-Russian plan to swiftly
rid Syria of chemical weapons was postponed Friday and no new date was

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama tore into Republicans on Friday
for risking a government shutdown -- and a possible debt default -- in
their latest efforts to sink Obamacare.
During a campaign-style speech in Liberty, Mo., the president took aim at House Republicans for, hours earlier, passing legislation
that would keep the government funded past Oct. 1 but would also defund
the Affordable Care Act. House Republicans are also planning another
vote next week on legislation that would tie a one-year delay in Obama's
signature health care law to raising the debt ceiling.
"The debate that's going on in Congress is not meeting the test of

Road transport workers, popularly called “agbero” in some parts of Nigeria, are reputed to be some of the best fed Nigerians.
It
is said that, in one meal they may consume what an average Nigerian
would eat in two days. And, this prepares them well for their esoteric
type of transfer of power. During
the typical agbero “takeover”, those who can wield machetes would wield
one or two, others would wield guns, local guns also called “oka” and
foreign made guns, including Kalashnikovs also known as AK47 , yet
others would wield logs of timber called “two by four”. Hence the
typical transfer of power amongst Agberos is a Hobbesian survival of the
fittest and meanest, without recourse to any constitutions or
guidelines. It is simply what it is: “a takeover”.
So, when
recently the Atiku-led group, left the PDP convention at the Eagle
Square in Abuja, and announced a “takeover” of the PDP, leaving behind a
full convention of members, it was very tempting to

Kaduna State Government has declared a 24-hour curfew in Kafanchan,

The

Nigerian universities have been buffeted with agonising months of

same. Government is still unwilling to give the education sector a shot

inconclusively. This underscores the lukewarm posture of FG towards the
