PUNISHMENT: Nigerian Policeman Who Tried To Extort Bribe Identified, Arrested
Last week, Naij.com reported the case of an unidentified police officer who demanded a 'dollar bribe' in Lagos. Today, the Nigerian Police headquarters have reported that the officer has been identified, arrested and is being investigated.
The officer was revealed to be Corporal Aniyem Chiyem attached to the Isheri Division, Lagos State F/No 374171.
Mr. Chiyem was filmed while demanding a bribe from a United States-based Nigerian who was traveling in Lagos. The police authorities have commenced disciplinary action against him.
