US Intelligence Official Says MH17 was Likely Shot Down by Mistake
A senior US official has confirmed that the most likely explanation for the MH17 disaster is that it was shot down by mistake. According to the Associated Press, the official said the US had no evidence that the Russian Government was directly involved with shooting the plane down, reports.
He reiterated the US theory that the passenger jet was most likely brought down by a surface-to-air missile fired by pro-Russian revels in eastern Ukraine.
