British warplanes to be used to locate abducted Chibok girls

British warplanes will be sent to Nigeria to help in the search of the abducted Chibok girls.
On Wednesday, 20 August, it was reported by British newspaper, the Daily Mail, that three Royal Air Force (RAF) Tornado GR4s outfitted with surveillance equipment were in the process of being deployed to fly reconnaissance missions over the Nigeria’s north-east.
The fighter bombers are to assist the Nigerian authorities in tracking the movements of Boko Haram militants, however, the report stated that the mission is dependent on getting permission to use the runway of a neighbouring country.
A UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) spokesman confirmed the report, saying, “The UK continues to work with the U.S., France, Nigeria, its neighbours and international partners to provide advice and assistance to the Nigerian Government.”
“Together with our allies, we have provided continuous surveillance support to the Nigerian authorities,
including satellite imagery. We are still in discussion with partners on the deployment of further surveillance capability.”
It is exactly 129 days sine over 200 girls, who were students of the Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State were abducted from their hostels on 15 April.
