Tuesday, Oprah injured her back after lifting a flower arrangement sent by her close friend, Tyler Perry.
Sources say the OWN talk show queen spent her 59th birthday in bed
after the mishap. However, the next day, Oprah Winfrey appeared to be
doing well and shared a photo to prove it.
In a Jan. 31 post, WENN noted
that Winfrey was showered with birthday gifts from family and friends.
However, it was the bulky rose bouquet that gave O somewhat of a health
scare.
Apparently, Winfrey hurt her back when she bent over and tried to
lift the flowers. It seems she didn't use the proper lifting technique
of using the legs instead of bending at the back.
Thankfully, the injuries were not severe and she had no hard feelings
about the mishap. In fact, she took to Twitter and filled her fans in.
"In bed with an ice pack most of today. Moved a bushel
of roses sent by @TylerPerry and sprained a back muscle," Winfrey said
in a tweet.
Perry followed up with an apology to Winfrey in a personal tweet. It read:
"I feel so bad. I like to send really large flower
arrangements to people for whatever occasion. Well, I sent one to Oprah
yesterday for her birthday. She strained her back picking it up. No
joke! Feel better Oprah. Happy birthday. Sorry."
And it appears the film mogul learned a lesson after Oprah injured
her back. Instead of sending a ginormous and tricked-out floral
arrangement, Tyler Perry said he'll just send a single rose.
Who said "bigger" is "better?"
