Jonathan Gives State Pardon To His Brother, Alamieyeisegha, Who Stole Billions
The Council of State headed by President Goodluck Jonathan, has granted state pardon to his brother and former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreiye Alamieyeisegha, a convicted thief.
The former governor, who was convicted for embezzling Nigeria's money running into billions of Nigeria while he was Governor, was pardoned alongside another convict and former head of the Bank of the North, Shettima Bulama.
Mr. Bulama, like Alamieyeisegha, was thoroughly investigated, prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and convicted by a court of competent jurisdiction.
Other prominent persons included Former Chief of General Staff, Oladipo Diya and Former Chief of Staff Supreme Military Council, late Major General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua and late Major General Abdulkareem
Adisa, Major Segun Fadipe, ex-Major Bello Magaji, Mohammed Lima Biu.
Consequently, the confirmed thieves will no longer be referred to as ex-convicts.
The Council of State is made up of the President, Vice President, all state governors, former Presidents, the Chief Justice of the Federation, the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
