Oscar Pistorius Granted Permission To Travel Abroad

A month and 2 weeks after putting bullets in his late girlfriend Reeva, Oscar Pistorius is free to compete again. Oscar Pistorius's agent has said this summer's World Athletics Championships is "on the radar" for the track runner after a judge said he could leave South Africa to compete in international events.

Pistorius was ordered last month to surrender his passport so he could not travel abroad, and report to a police station twice weekly. He was told that he could not drink, nor return to the home where he shot model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp dead in the early hours of February 14.

But on Thursday a High Court judge hearing an appeal by Mr Pistorius' lawyers against the strict conditions, which effectively placed him under house arrest, ruled that they were "unfair, unreasonable and with total disregard to the applicant's right to privacy and a family life".
