MUNICH, Germany (AFP) – German champions Bayern Munich look set for their second successive Champions League final after thrashing Barcelona 4-0 in Tuesday’s semi-final first leg match in Munich.
A double from Thomas Mueller and a goal apiece from Mario Gomez and Arjen Robben handed Barcelona their first defeat by a four-goal margin since Getafe beat them in a Spanish Cup semi-final tie in 2007.
Barcelona – who are appearing in a record sixth consecutive semi-final – host Bayern in the second leg on
May 1.
