‘We’ve Made A Few Arrests’, Police Still Investigating Slain Lagos DJ’s Death
Last Monday, 25-year old DJ, Olamide George was shot dead in cold bold by unknown assailants.
The incident happened in the victim’s neighbourhood on Bank Olemoh Street, Surulere, Lagos at around 2:00pm while he was sitting with some friends under a tree, popularly known as ‘Abe Igi’.
Just before his murder, George reportedly answered a phone call, and the caller requested to know where he was. George answered that he was at Abe Igi.
After which the assassins, numbering four, who rode in a Keke Maruwa (tricycle) approached the group and shot Olamide in the head and in the chest after identifying him from the group.
His body was taken to the morgue in Lagos University Teaching Hospital after he was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
Speaking to NET in a telephone conversation, Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ngozi Braide says the Police is currently on the case.
‘We have made a few arrests and we are still trying to investigate who the killers are as well as finding out the motives for the attack, when we are done with our investigations, we will let the public know’.
