Annie Nkwonko Concedes Anambra APC Governorship Ticket to Chris Ngige

The political battle between Senator Chris Ngige and his predecessor Senator Annie Okonkwo over who flies the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Anambra state in the forth coming election may have come to an end as Senator Okwonkwo has agreed to support the candidacy of Chris Nigige.

The decision of Okonkwo to step down for Ngige was the outcome of a negotiation chaired by the Governor of Imo Stat, Owelle Rochas Okorocha. Rochas who spoke at the Leaders Meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC at the Ladi Kwali Hall of Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja, where the party’s manifesto was unveiled announced that  Senator Okonkwo will personally lead the campaign of Senator Ngige in the November 16 governorship election in Anambra State.
The announcement by Rochas Okorocha heralded a standing ovation and tumultuous applause for both Annie Okwonkwo and Chris Ngige as Ngige left his seat to embrace Okwonkwo.

To further demonstrate that he is in support of the candidacy of Chris Ngige as they, Senator Okonkwo personally presented Chris Ngige as his preferred candidate to the Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande.

Both Ngige and Okwokwo had earlier declared their intention to run for the governorship seat of Anambra. Since the intention of the duo was made public, it has been one form of political fight or the other.
