Well, technically he's not my father-in-law yet as I have not married his daughter. But I want to marry her. I went to him today to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage, and instead of giving his blessing, he asked me to write an essay about myself and why I would want to marry his daughter. Where is that done? I want to marry this woman, but why do I have to write an
essay? What is this?
