The police in Bayelsa have arrested an aide to a community leader in Bayelsa for raping an 18-year-old girl to death.
The 36-year-old aide to the former Otuoke Community Development Committee (CDC) of Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State was arrested on Thursday by the police for the rape to death the teenager.
Although the autopsy report is yet to be released, the rapist was arrested while trying to dispose off the corpse in the early hours of Thursday.
The suspect, according to indigenes of the community, resides in an uncompleted building owned by his boss, a former community development committee chairman.
The spokesman of the Bayelsa Police Command, Mr.Alex Akhigbe confirmed the incident and said
investigation was ongoing.
