'Ozil Is The Signing of The Summer' - Says Arsenal's Jack Wilshere
Jack Wilshere believes that Arsenal have made the "signing of the summer" after completing a deal for Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil.
The England midfielder is "absolutely buzzing" after Arsenal signed the playmaker from Real Madrid, with Lukas Podolski and Laurent Koscielny also welcoming him to the club
The Germany international sealed a club-record £40 million switch to the Emirates Stadium late on Monday evening, with the playmaker signing a £130k-a-week five-year deal in one of the biggest moves of the transfer window.
Shortly after the deal was confirmed, Wilshere Tweeted: "Signing of the summer! Easily! Fantastic player,
plays the 'Arsenal way'. Welcome @MesutOzil1088 absolutely buzzing!"
Lukas Podolski also posted on the social network site after the Gunners officially confirmed the transfer of the former Werder Bremen playmaker: "Welcome Bro. London calling!;)))"
Centre-back Laurent Koscielny, meanwhile, believes that the Gunners have signed a player of "world-class" ability.
Speaking to reporters ahead of France's World Cup qualifier against Georgia, he said: "We talk about Mesut Ozil, we'll see, this is a world-class player, a technical player who can adapt to Arsenal."
