The place of the murder

The Lagos police are investigating a murder of one Michael Peter, a South African construction engineer with HiTech Construction Company. The man was brutally murdered in his apartment on Adesena Close in the Ijegun, Ikotun area of the state.
Other residents of the six-flats building, also expatriates working at the same company, were shocked by the news.
A domestic employee said the HiTech construction yard is located nearby, and all six of the expatriates are all white men.
Last Monday about 2am, a number of men entered the compound after cutting the barbwire of the surrounding fence. The hoodlums tied up two security guards and went to Peter's flat. There, they cut him with knives and cutlasses as if they were "torturing him in order to get some information," the domestic employee says, adding that the whole apartment was covered in blood and "scattered".
A large generator was on, so the rest of the residents did not hear what was going on in the apartment.
Moreover, the attackers used machetes and knives instead of firing shots.
One of the HiTech construction company's employee described Peter's demise as "a great loss to the company," however, declining to comment on the incident. He further said Peter had worked with the company before and left, but he came back again this year.
The employees are cooperating with the police.
It has been learnt that the two security guards were arrested, and other residents relocated to Victoria Island.
Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said the police were working on some theories, adding that the assailants would be arrested and face the consequences.
