Ex-governor Attahiru Bafarawa dumps APC for the PDP
Attahiru Bafarawa, former governor of Sokoto State has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after dumping the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
Reports say the governor announced his decision to decamp through his media adviser, Yusuf Dingyadi who described the Bafarawa’ decision has “collective and unanimous”. He added that the decision was made on the basis of consensus reached by his associates and supporters from the 23 local governments of the state.

He said Bafarawa and his associates no longer believed they will get justice and a sense of belonging in the APC.
As at the time Bafarawa’s defection was announced, the leaderships of defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), All Nigerian Peoples Party and also Action Congress of
Nigeria (ACN) throughout the 23 local government areas of the state has officially defected to the APC.
