"I know where you live—where Satan’s throne is!" ~ Revelations 2:13 Holman Christian Standard Bible
… What do you call a bunch of 170 million oil producing people that have never, in their 100 year history, generated and sustained just 4,000 MW of electricity? Germany, with a population less than half of Nigeria's, generates 70,000 MW. Energy available in Germany is 7,665 kWh per person. In Nigeria, it is a miserable 206 kWh per person. That explains why in December, I ran on standby generator for three weeks. And why since yesterday afternoon we haven't had electricity. And yet, that despicable "NEPA" still sends me the same bloated "estimated bill" every month for electricity not supplied!
… What do you make of 170 million geniuses with massive hectares of uncultivated lands and yet import every imaginable food item? Forget electronics, fashion, medicines, cosmetics and children's toys, we spend trillions of naira importing rice, canned tomatoes, salt, beans, fish, spices, chicken, fruit juices… We import matches to light up our imported gas cookers to cook our imported food. Then, we import toothpicks for
use after eating our imported chicken.
… Walter Rodney's book, "How Europe Underdeveloped Africa" remains an eternal indictment on Europe for setting up Africa for its perpetual behindness and failure. Believe it or not, Africa had its life, its technologies, its medical science, its military ideas, its art, its dance and music, its oral literature, its natural evolution to civilization, and especially, its own system of government BEFORE the infamous Europe's scramble for Africa between 1881 and 1914. If America hadn't resisted Britain, there certainly would have been another Rodney volume, "How Europe Underdeveloped America." The locust invades only but to feed its own stomach.
= Are We Better Off After Colonialism? =
I've heard some people argue, 'We became independent prematurely. That's why Africa is backward. We should have let them colonize us another 100 years until we are ready to govern ourselves.'
… Other colonial protagonists say, "Didn't they bring education and enlightenment to our people?" Which reminds me of what the gospel musician, Patty Obasi, sang: "The gift of the mermaid spirit is like 'give me a human and I'll give you back a human head.'" The colonists were marine spirits.

… Remember the classical Trojan Horse? In the myth, the Greeks had besieged Troy, and, for 10 years, tried fruitlessly, to conquer it. Then, they came up with the idea to build a massive wooden horse, hide its elite force in the belly of the wooden horse and pretend to have abandoned the siege. The Trojans, falling for the subterfuge, rushed out of their fortified city to drag the "abandoned" horse into their city. Lacoon, the Trojan Priest cried out, "Do not trust the horse, Trojans! Whatever it is, I fear the Greeks, even bringing gifts." That was the origin of "Greek gifts." But they did not listen. And Troy fell.
… When Europe's wooden horse was being dragged into our green and serene villages, we had no Lacoon to warn: "Do not trust the horse!" Look where we are today! I can hardly speak my native language - I speak and think in the language of the wooden horse. I have forgotten our tales by moonlight. The dance steps of my age grade I remember no more. And when I visit the village, the old men serve me a bottle of Coca Cola instead of fresh palm wine, kolanut and spicy 'alligator pepper.' Processed foods unknown to my grandfather's holy stomach have invaded our village markets. And so have the cancers, obesity and other strange diseases.
… So are we better off today? Big debate.
= If Only Africa Had Colonized Europe! =
… But let me tell you, to be fair on Europe, in this world and the next, he who reads and writes will rule over he who doesn't. It was natural for Africa to fall to the power of the written word and thinking mind. If Africa had discovered and applied the alphabets before Europe … if Egypt's hieroglyphics had caught on, Africa would probably have colonized Europe. Instead of the Queen in Buckingham Palace, we would have had an Ifa or Amadioha priest. Instead of St. Patrick's Day, we should have been celebrating New Yam Festival on the streets of London. In place of the Union jack would have been a picture of Ojuju Calabar wrestling with Ekpo Badagry.
… Play apart, the only worthy gift Europe may have bestowed upon our conquered lands was the ALPHABET - a means to encode ideas. Tragically, this generation of Africans still wouldn't read, think or write anything! And the parts of the world that READ and THINK continue to dominate those that don't.
… Anyway, now, we are told that we have "independence" from Europe… whatever that means. Dependent independence. If so, what is still tormenting this continent? Six specific DEMONS in Satan's COMMAND AND CONTROL ROOM, have been assigned to destroy Africa. They have the mandate to waste the spirit and soul of the sons of Africa; sift out, carry off, educate and absorb their brightest children in other lands, supplant their culture and languages, impose strange ideologies and new forms of idol worship on them…. intimidate, overpower, threaten them. Latest example: "Reverse your sexuality laws, or else!"
I love you.. have an awesome week!
