It has been stated on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the
President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, President Goodluck
Jonathan did not do anything illegal by suspending Mallam Lamido Sanusi
as CBN governor.
The official told State House correspondents that the CBN Act being referred to only talks of removal and not suspension.
Abati was quoted saying:
"He who hires also has the power to suspend."
On
the possible arrest of Sanusi, he said he was not aware of any sucn
plans, adding that under the enabling
Act, where an indictment is
established, the law will take its course.
