A man in Ohio has been arrested after he allegedly hit his baby daughter on the mouth and caused her death.
24-year-old Shavale Johnson is said to have attacked the 3-month-old after which she was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The baby’s mother called 911 to report the incident at about midnight and she has been cleared of all wrongdoing.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Asia Cathey’s death is considered suspicious. The father, , was arrested early today and charged with child endangering. Online jail records didn’t list an attorney for him.

Police wrote in court records that Johnson, who was due in court this morning, “did strike the child with a closed fist causing serious physical harm.” Police said charges against Johnson are likely to be upgraded after an autopsy.
The baby’s mother isn’t expected to be charged.
