WATCH: Heroic Cat saves child from dog attack
The child was riding a tricycle near his house, when he was suddenly attacked by the dog, which bit his leg and tried to pull him off the bike.
At almost the same time the family cat lept into action jumping on the dog and chasing it off, before it could inflict any further injuries on the boy.
The child sustain various bite marks, which required stitches, but his father Roger Triantafilo, who posted the video on YouTube said, "thankfully, my son is fine!"
