GETTING CLOSER? Ghanaians panic as first case of Ebola Virus is reported
A male U.S citizen is currently being tested for the Ebola virus in Ghana.
The man who is said to have visited
Sierra Leone and Guinea recently, has been quarantined in Nyaho Clinic, a
private facility in the capital, Accra.
Although Ghana’s health ministry is
urging citizens to stay calm, as “precautionary measures” have been put
in place, many Ghanaians are understanably bothered.
Ebola spreads through contact with an infected person’s bodily fluids.
The virus has so far killed more than
460 people since it broke out in Guinea in February and spread to
neighbouring Liberia and Sierra Leone.
It is the world’s deadliest outbreak to date and there is no cure for it.
