Mum from hell: Prostitute sells day-old baby for N20,000 in Bayelsa
A commercial sex worker in Bayelsa State, on Monday, gave birth to a baby girl and sold the child for N20,000 along the red light zone area of D.S.P Alameiseigha Road of the Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.
The child, according to report by the police, was sold to a family in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
The spokesman of the Bayelsa State police command, Alex Akhigbe, on Monday, confirmed the incident and said investigation into the incident had traced the family involved in the sale to Port Harcourt.
According to Akhigbe, “though the details of the investigation are sketchy, the police are on their way to effect the recovery of the baby and arrest the family which bought the child.”
