Solange Knowles Finally Addresses Elevator Fight with Jay Z
Solange Knowles has finally acknowledged, albeit briefly, her elevator incident with brother-in-law Jay Z following the Met Gala in May.
In the August issue of Lucky magazine, Solange, 28, refers to to the scuffle as "that thing," and references the joint family statement released to the media by Solange, Jay and Beyoncé following the leaked security video, which showed Solange physically attacking Jay.
"What's important is that my family and I are all good," the "Bad Girls" singer said. "What we had to say collectively was in the statement that we put out, and we all feel at peace with that."
Released exclusively to the Associated Press, the statement read, "As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay
and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family."
While it's not known what caused Solange to lash out at Jay, some media outlets suggested rumors of Jay Z's infidelity might be to blame. Bey and Jay however, appear to be doing just fine. The couple looked especially cozy during the Philly show of their On the Run tour last night.
