World Fashion Organization to Name Proposed University after President Jonathan
GEJ and fashion? Not something we saw together but it is great to see that The World Fashion Organization appreciates our commander-in-chief’s Bayelsa style.
So much that the organization has revealed plans to name the institution in Bayelsa after President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
The WFO took the decision in recognition
of Jonathan’s achievements despite security challenges. It was revealed
in a statement signed by Daniel Iworiso-Markson, the Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor Seriake Dickson.
The Goodluck Jonathan World Fashion University,
according to the statement, will be equipped with a research centre,
amphitheatre, faculty of social sciences, conference centre, textile
plant building, sports complex among other facilities.
GEJ who was represented by Edem Duke, the Minister of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation,
expressed gratitude for the honour at a Gala Night held in Yenagoa.
He stated that the creative industry contributes 40 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) across the continent.
