#PrayForRivers: Joan Rivers’ daughter rushes to her (critically) sick mother’s side
Veteran comic, Joan Rivers’ daughter, Melissa has rushed to be with her mother after the 81-year-old suffered complications during a surgery in a New York clinic.
The E! News anchor was later rushed to the Mount Sinai Hospital, New York where she is said to be unconscious but in stable condition.
The online news platform, TMZ broke the news earlier today saying Rivers had stopped breathing during a surgery on her throat. She was said to have been undergoing a throat procedure in a clinic when the unthinkable happened.
“This morning, Joan Rivers was taken to the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, where she is being attended to,” hospital spokesman Sid Dinsay confirmed.
“Her family wants to thank everybody for their outpouring of love and support. We will provide an update on
her condition as it becomes available.”
Joan Rivers had showed up “bright and early” on Tuesday morning to tape a 90-minute special edition of “Fashion Police” with Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos, wrapping up coverage of the Emmy Awards and MTV Video Music Awards.
