Police inspector dies after fight with wife in Lagos
Daniel Danjuma, a police inspector, died on Thursday at the Ijeh Police Baracks, Obalende, Lagos after having a fight with his wife.
The late police officer who was attached to a division in the Apapa area of Lagos was said to have fallen from the balcony of a two-storey building.
He was reportedly rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
His wife, simply identified as Ada, sustained injuries in the fall but was discharged from the hospital two days later.
It is not clear what started the fight but neighbours who spoke to the Punch say the couple have been known to engage in serious fights before this fatal incident.
Daniel’s first son, Emmanuel, told reporters that he was informed about his father’s death on the telephone.
Daniel explained that he was staying with an uncle in the Mile 2 area of the state.
He said, “I don’t know what could have caused the fight. I was not at home. Dad and mum have lived in this
barracks for about 10 years now.
“We were formerly staying in Nasarawa State where dad initially served. In Lagos, I don’t stay with them, but my two sisters do. Mum has returned from the hospital, and she is back home now, but she cannot talk to anyone for now.”
