Forty one members of the Islamic fundamentalist group, Boko Haram, were
beheaded by the vigilante group in a Borno village, Gur, it was gathered

A member of the youth vigilance group in the area,
Mala Yusuf, recounted that after a failed attack on Sabon Gari in Damboa
Local Government Area of Borno state, a combined team of military men
and members of the vigilance group otherwise know as Civilian JTF, went
after the insurgents and killed 41 of them.
He said the militants
were pursued from Sabon Gari, in Damboa Local Government to Gur area
around Mandafuma village, in Biu Local Government Area, where they
engaged the sect members in a gun battle which lasted for about two

brought their heads to show to
the public.

the shootout and took their heads to Biu to show the people that the
Boko Haram insurgents are human and not some beasts and so, people
should not fear them but to join hands with security operatives to
ensure that the sect, who are enemies of Islam and the people of
Nigerians, are defeated.
We heard that the insurgent went to
attack Sabon Gari, where people are just returning to their homes after
three months of exile as internally displaced persons in various camps
across the state. We went after them to foil the planned attack.
“We were able to repell them and seeing that they headed towards
Mandafuma in Biu Local Government, we went after them and we were able
to ambush them at Gur.
