Frustrated Mikel Obi assaults female reporter in Abuja
According to reports making the rounds, Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel allegedly assaulted a female journalist who asked him for an interview while on international duty with Nigeria.
The reports say that Mikel was trying to leave a training session with his national team when the female reporter from KISS FM in Abuja approached him.
She asked him to grant her an interview to discuss Nigeria’s forthcoming matches but an evidently irritated Mikel lashed out at her.
According to BBC reporter, Oluwashina Okeleji, the journalist has since forgiven Mikel for the incident.
Earlier this week, popular sports writer, Colins Udoh tweeted that he’d been verbally abused by Mikel while asking questions about the team’s performance.
