An unmarried man and woman recieved one hundred lashes after being found guilty of adultery in the western province of Ghor, Afghanistan.
The video footage, taken by one of the eyewitnesses of the punishment, shows the woman wrapped in a black burqa and a man obediently sitting in a squatting position, while beign lashed with a leather whip. The whole process is watched by a group of apathetically seated men. The trial took place in
Ghor province and was supported by its government.
