Return Falae Safe And Sound, OPC Warns Fulani Herdsmen
The Oodua Peoples’ Congress, Gani Adams faction has warned
Fulani herdsmen to be careful the way they trend in Yorubaland and shouldn’t mistake
Yoruba’s accommodating nature as a weakness. They described the abduction of
the former Minister of Finance, who was abducted by the herdsmen yesterday in
his farm in Ondo State as a sin against humanity.
In the statement, the Yoruba group said the era in which
herdsmen would invade farms in Yoruba land and vandalize property was gradually
making a comeback.
“We would want to know that the attribute of Yoruba people
to be accommodating is not something that should be abused,” said the
statement.
“For us, being accommodating is a virtue that was inculcated
into us by our forefathers, and should therefore not be seen as a weakness by
anybody
“We would, however want to send a note of warning that the
Federal Government should do all within its powers to ensure that Baba Falae is
returned to his family safe and sound,” the statement also said.
