#MinisterialScreening: Senate screens Claudius Omoyele Daramola
The Senate has screened ministerial nominee, Claudius Omoyele Daramola, a
professor of Education from Ondo state.
During his presentation, Professor Daramola said the incessant strikes
in Universities is as a result of communication gap between the
government & university management.
He appealed for more funds to be put into the education sector. He stated that a monitoring team has to be instituted to ensure that funds released to the education sector are used judiciously.
Professor Daramola advocated for skills acquisition to be placed into the Nigerian universities curriculum. He said a synergy between parents and school authorities will help to reduce cult activities.
On teachers and remuneration, he appealed for an upgrade and asked that teachers salaries must not be delayed. He called for the repeated training of teachers in all schools in Nigeria. He said mid-day meals must be introduced to make school more appealing to children.
He was asked to take a bow and go.
