The notorious terrorist group stormed the remote village of Ashir along Biu road in Damboa Local Government Area (LGA) of Borno State around 8:30pm on Wednesday. SaharaReporters has received reports that Boko Haram set the entire village ablaze after stealing the foodstuffs from the community.
A local vigilante, Abubakar Jojori, spoke to SaharaReporters and lamented that the terrorists wreaked
havoc on the helpless civilians yesterday.
''They came on motorcycles around 8:30pm. As a local vigilante on duty saw them he quickly alerted the villagers. Everyone fled into the nearby bushes.”
''[Boko Haram] went away with two vehicles, some bicycles, goats, chickens as well as all the foodstuffs including salt. But we thank Allah nobody was killed. Only a few people sustained small injuries,'' Abubakar Jojori told SaharaReporters by phone from Biu town.
Ashir village is about 5 kilometers away from Damboa which is 60 miles from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
