Two managers attached to a new generation bank in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, Tammy Adoki, 36, and Augustina Ezenwekwe, 39, have been arraigned before a Lagos magistrates’ court for conspiring with others still at large to forge the signature of Mrs Adeosun Bridget Oluwatoyin with intent to commit felony.
The police also accused the duo of forging the Memorandum of Understanding Between MUT-HASS Petroleum Limited and MASTERS ENERGY Oil and Gas with an intent that it may be used or acted on as genuine to the prejudice of Mrs Adeosun Bridget Oluwatoyin.
The accused persons were arrested by the operatives of Force Criminal Investigation Department,
FCID, Alagbon, Ikoyi,Lagos and arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrates’Court, Lagos on a three count charge of felony to wit, forgery.
Police prosecutor, ASP Henry Obiazi informed the court in charge No E/25/2016 that the accused persons committed the offence on 15 March, 2011 at Ikeja, Lagos.
Obiazi told the court that the accused persons connived with one Uche Ogah, now at large to forge the signature of Mrs Adeosun Bridget Oluwatoyin with intent that it may used or acted on as genuine.
Obiazi said the offences the accused committed are punishable under sections 409,363(3)(u),408 and 361(1)(a) of the criminal Laws of Lagos sate, 2011.
The accused persons however denied police allegations.
The presiding magistrate admitted them to bail in the sum of N1m each with two sureties each in like sum.
The magistrate adjourned the case till 18 June, 2016 for mention while the defendants were taken to Ikoyi and Kirikiri prisons respectively pending when they will fulfil their bail conditions.
