Two Emirs Return To Their Domain In Company Of Borno Dep. Gov. After Boko Haram Forced Them To Flee
Two Emirs, the Emir of Askira, Muhammadu Askirama and Ismaila Mamza of Uba, today returned to their palaces after boko haram insurgents made them flee two years ago when they took over their domain. They returned to their territories today in the company of the Deputy State Governor, Mamman Durkuwa.
It would be recalled that shortly after the insurgents took control of their domain in August 2015 they announced the establishment of a Caliphate, which made residents flee including the Emirs.
But now, the insurgents have been dislodged by the military who are now in control of the area and
have asked the Emirs to return. In total, five Emirs fled their palaces so far in Borno. So three are still expected to be back.
