– Fani-Kayode, the source said was attacked alongside other detainees for saying saying their prayers

Reports reaching us has it that the former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has been attacked at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Sources at the commission said Fani-Kayode was attacked alongside other detainees by an EFCC operative, Suleiman Kabiru on Saturday, June 26.
The source confirmed that Kabiru has constantly harassed detainees who engage in saying prayers
while being held at the commission’s facility.
“Matters came to a head on Saturday when, without any provocation, Suleiman Kabiru, a Muslim from Kebbi state charged at Fani-Kayode injuring him in the process,” the source said.
The source said Kabiru was visibly angry and asked him (Fani-Kayode) why he would not obey his instructions.

He however told us that Kabiru was stopped from inflicting more harm on the former minister through intervention from other officials of the commission.

As at the time of filing this report, the EFCC’s spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren is yet to respond to us inquiry on the assault.
Fani-Kayode was detained by the commission after honouring an invitation by the EFCC on Monday, May 9.
The EFCC in its invitation to the former minister said it was investigating corrupt allegation linked to a company, Joint Trust Dimensions Limited.
The commission further said it will be arraigning the former minister alongside two others at a Federal High court in Ikoyi, Lagos on a 17-count charge bordering on fraud and money laundering.
But on two different occasions, the absence of the judge over the matter, Sule Hassan stalled his arraignment, an act which family of the former minister have said is an attempt by the commission to prolong Fani-Kayode’s detention.
