Portrait of late Gay British singer, George Micheal sold for $580k
A portrait of late Gay British singer, George Micheal by artist Damien Hirst has been sold for $580,000 at an auction organised by his former partner, Kenny Goss. The painting called ‘Beautiful Beautiful George Michael’ which was created with household gloss on canvas was sold at the Dallas Contemporary art museum in Dallas, Texas on Friday night.
According to reports, the money raised from the sale of the painting will go to HIV/Aids charity ‘The
Goss-Michael Foundation’ founded by Michael and Kenny Goss.
George Michael whose real name is Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou died at his home at the age of 53.
He was found dead, lying in bed, by his partner Fadi Fawaz on Christmas morning, 25 December 2016.
