Constituents vow to recall suspended lawmaker, Abdulmumin Jibrin over his call for President Buhari to resign
Last week, suspended House of Representatives member, Abdulmumin Jibrin, called for the resignation of President Buhari. In a series of tweets, Jibrin said pictures of President Buhari that have been released in recent times, show a man that seriously needs home care and not someone that should be burdened with office work.
In reaction to his statement, members of his constituents from Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency in Kano state, yesterday staged a protest at the APC secretariat in Kano state chapter of APC,
expressing their anger at him and also vowing to recall him for making such a statement against President Buhari.
Leader of the protesting constituents and a Chieftain of the party, Muntari Isiyaku, said members of the party from Kiru and Bebeji were convinced that Abdulmumin had committed a political suicide and that the appropriate punishment was to disown and recall him from the National Assembly.
"It is a gross unethical misconduct for a prominent member of the APC like him to make such a declaration on the President. If not for anything, at least they belonged to the same party. If we allow Jibrin to go scot free, that would set a bad precedent and spell doom for APC's in the future" he saidAnother APC cheiftain and former Campaign Director of Abdulmumin, Musa Salihu Bebeji, who also spoke at the protest ground, said they have set the motion to recall Jibrin from the House of Representatives.
As far as I know, Kofa cannot boast or claim to have executed constituency project that were worth N12m. For the past six years he has execute a single project in his constituency. Recalling him is the way out. we see no reason why he should be addressed as our representative" he said
