Suspected herdsmen kill traditional ruler, his pregnant wife in Southern Kaduna

Suspected herdsmen have killed a traditional ruler, the Etum Numana and his pregnant wife at their home in Sanga local government area of the state today January 1st. According to reports, the monarch had just returned home from where he had gone to celebrate the beginning of the new year when the gunmen stormed his home at about 12.05am and opened fire.
Confirming the incident, a resident of the Area , Bala Audu who is also the chairman of Sanga
Development Association, said
“He was seated with his second wife who is pregnant. Suddenly the gunmen, who I was told covered their faces with masks, invaded the house and opened fire on them, alongside his son who is about 45 years. The chief and his wife died on the spot, the son did not die but he sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital. The gun men set the house ablaze and burnt a vehicle which was recently given to the chief as a gift. They fled into the bush after they committed the dastardly act.”
The state government or the state police command is yet to comment on this attack.
