Three Saudi nurses fired for squashing newborn baby

Three Saudi nurses have been fired for filming themselves laughing while squashing the face of a newborn baby hospitalised with an infection.
The incident occurred at a maternity hospital in Taif, Saudi Arabia.
The disturbing video shows one of the nurses grabbing the infant’s forehead and neck before cruelly squashing the helpless infant's face as her colleagues giggle.
According to reports, the baby was in the hospital for 10 days to treat a urinary tract infection when
the footage was taken and posted online.
The baby's parents were said to have noticed the shocking treatment after the footage went viral on social media, including causing an outrage online.
Confirming the incident, Abdulhadi Al-Rabie, Taif Health Affairs spokesman, said: 'The Health Affairs investigated the source of the video and was able to identify the nurses who appeared in the video and the hospital where the incident took place.'
It was also learned that after the nurses were tracked, they were immediately suspended and their medical licenses have since been revoked.
The nurses whose names weren't revealed are also banned from practicing nursing in other health departments.
