The newly-appointed National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, held a closed-door meeting with former Military President Ibrahim Babangida in continuation of his nationwide consultation with party elders.
He also met with the Governor of Niger State, Dr Babangida Aliyu.
The Chairman, who led a 15-member team, arrived at Babangida’s Minna Uphill residence on January 31, 2014, about 12.05 p.m., and stayed in the meeting till 1.05 p.m.
The PDP National Youth Leader, Alhaji Abdullahi Maibasera, and a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Gali Na’aba, were present in the meeting, among others.
Babangida refused to comment on the meeting.
“I am not going to say a word. I am not talking,” he said.
Mu’azu explained that he was in Minna as part of his reconciliatory meeting with some elders of the party.
He described the meeting with IBB as ‘fruitful’.
He also declined to disclose any specific details of the meeting
“What we discussed is not meant for public consumption. All I can say is that we had a fruitful discussion,” he said.
The next meeting of the Chairman was with Gov. Aliyu and it lasted for 20.
It would be noted that the meetings took place about one week after Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta.
