Security nab suicide bomber in Bauchi



What would resulted to another bloody Sunday at the Living Faith Church in Yelwa, a suburb of Bauchi Metropolis was averted when armed soldiers who swiftly acting on proactive measures, averted another bomb explosion .
It could be recalled that on the 3rd of June 2012, a suicide bomber rammed his vehicle at the Living Faith Church and the Harvest of Field Church, killing 21 while 45 others sustained injuries.
Vanguard gathered that the incident happened at around 11 am when most churches were holding services.

It was learnt that two suspected suicide bombers on a motorcycle disguised themselves as church members escaped security checks, but luck ran out of them when they decided to change their route which prompted the suspicion of the security men to go after them.
An eyewitness told Vanguard that the two suspected bombers were riding a motorcycle. He said one of the suicide bombers who was unlucky was caught by some good Samaritans at the Yelwa Makaranta area was while the other who was carrying the explosive to the targeted churches escaped.
The eyewitness added that the bombers were forced to divert their direction because the Joint Military Task Force had alerted Church security men to placed iron barricade to prevent suicide bombers from gaining access to their church premises, a development which made the bomber to abandon his motor cycle and take to his heels for safety.
It was gathered that the bomber made confessional statements to security and people around that indicted eminent religious leaders in the state as their sponsors with a promise to give details.
