SACKED! Ministers Cry As Jonathan Caught Them Unawares, PDP Crisis To Consume More
In a bid to constitute a cabinet of Ministers that could help him win
the 2015 election in their respective states, President Goodluck
Jonathan on Wednesday fired the nine ministers pictured above.
Jonathan's action, it was
learnt, is to appoint more bold men like Nyesom Wike who is helping him
give Governor Rotimi Amaechi serious headache in Rivers State. Already, a
list of men who are giving their state governors trouble have been
compiled by the Presidency for appointment.
Jonathan wants to appoint the identified men in order to use them
against the governors who have joined the so called New PDP that is
heading towards a merger with the opposition APC for the 2015 election.
Deafening silence enveloped the Federal Executive Council Chambers on
Wednesday as Jonathan reeled out the names of the affected ministers.
Some of the ministers betrayed their emotions as they shed tears.
The sacked ministers are
Ruqayyatu Rufai (Education); Okon Ewa-Bassey (Science & Techology);
Olugbenga Ashiru (Foreign Affairs); Hadiza Mailafia (Environment);
Shamsudeen Usman, (National Planning); and Ama Pepple (Housing and
Urban Development).
The Minister of State for Defence, Olusola Obada, and her counterparts in the Agriculture Ministry, Alhaji Bukar Tijani and Power, Zainab Kuchi, were also affected.
The action by Jonathan to sack their loyalists has further increased the fury of the new PDP Governors, who have vowed to ensure that Jonathan is paid in his own coin.
