Governor Suntai, Jonathan’s Meeting Ends in a Deadlock
Taraba State governor, Mr. Danbaba Suntai’s meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan might have ended on a deadlock.
The
pro-Suntai politicians, who flew him to Abuja to meet with Jonathan on
Sunday morning left Abuja with the governor to Jalingo later in the day
in a private jet, without achieving their goal: getting Jonathan to ask
Suntai to resume work immediately.
Competent sources confirmed that Suntai, who formally met with Jonathan since returning from oversea’s medical treatment, sought the President’s intervention in the political crisis in his state, which has prevented him from taking over the reins of power from his deputy, Garba Umar.
Although, Jonathan did not make a public statement after the visit, which was facilitated by a former Defence
Minister, Theophilus Danjuma, it was learnt that the President used the visit to assess the fitness of Suntai to resume work.
