Jos Bomb Blast: Another Bomb Scare Forces Residents To Remain Indoors As Schools, Banks Remain Shut

A day after the twin bomb blasts that hit Jos Terminus Market yesterday, May 20, which left about 200 people dead and others injured, there was another bomb scare in two different parts of Jos, Plateau State, on Wednesday, 21 May.
The bomb scares were said to have occurred in Bukuru, Jos South Local Government Area and Tudunwada, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau.
In Bukuru area, at about noon, residents of Gyel panicked and were forced to stay indoors out of fear following rumours that explosive devices were planted in the locality. The residents called one another in panic at the situation as many decided to remain indoors.
In the Tudunwada area, there was pandemonium at about 11:30 a.m. after residents allegedly spotted a strange vehicle parked at a strategic point in the area.
Some of the residents took to Facebook, blackberry messenger, and other social media sites to alert their
relations of the alleged bomb-laden vehicle but the vehicle owner later arrived and took away his car.
Following Tuesday's blast, banks, several public and private schools and other businesses within the Jos city center were shut on Wednesday. Most filling stations were also shut while the few that opened were crowded.
There were also rumours that the major seminary of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos, where Catholic priests are trained, was attacked by suspected hoodlums on Tuesday night, but the authorities of the seminary have debunked the rumour.
Most streets of the Jos city centre remained deserted as residents grapple with Tuesday’s incident and also Wednesday’s bomb rumour.
