Security Bust Boko Haram's Intelligence Cell And Arrest Its Head


 

Nigerian security have reportedly busted  Boko Haram intelligence cell headed by a businessman Babuji Ya’ari, who was allegedly involved in the abduction of more than 250 Chibok girls.
According to Punch, which refers to the Monday statement by the Director of Defence Information Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, the busimessman being the member of Civilian JTF used this vigilante group as cover for terrorist activities. While his main responsibility was to spy for the advantage of terrorists, he was also called the initiator of the murder of Emir of Gwoza.

"Babuji has been coordinating several deadly attacks in Maiduguri since 2011, including the daring attacks on Customs and military locations as well as the planting of IEDs in several locations in the town."

According to Olukolade, after interrogating the detainee the security acquired the important information for arresting other members on the terrorist cell.
He continued that one of them identified as Hafsat Bako has been responsible for coordinating the payment
of other operatives on the payroll of the group, with the minimum of N10,000 to each, as she later confessed. Another arrested woman was said to be acting both as a spy and an armourer.
Olukolade summarized: "Until their arrest, all the suspects actively operated a terrorists’ intelligence cell in collaboration with others still at large."
