The 'dust lady' of 9/11 dies: Iconic survivor Marcy Borders dies of stomach cancer
Marcy Borders was famously photographed covered in ash pulverized
concrete as she fled the World Trade Center attack on
September 11, 2001. She became known as the 'dust lady' and for many
years shared her experience on surviving the terror attack on the
US.Unfortunately she has died.
Marcy succumbed to stomach cancer on Monday August 24th. She was just 42. In an interview in Nov. 2014, while she battled with the disease, Marcy said she believed the cancer was caused from the dust of the Twin Towers that she inhaled. She had only worked at Bank of America for one month and was late for work on the day of the terror attack, saving her life. May her soul rest in peace, amen.
